If you want a full spool here is the "way some of us do it"

Takes about 5 minutes to do this...

Like "Blades" above, I only use Stren braided line, buy in the 300 yd. Have a place measured out, exactly 100 yards.....walk line out to 100 yd mark, cut at that point.

1. empty spool

2. tie the 100 yards of "braided line" on 1st, spool that on the reel.

3. then tie on some kind of mono line to the end of the braided line, continue until the reel is "as full as you want it".

4. run it all off again......tie the mono on the reel and "crank it in" making sure you keep it tight.

The above way gives you a "full spool", and 100 yds of braided line "is a lot".

If you happen to break of "quite a bit of the braid", then you can go home and just replace the 100 yards of braid.

Another advantage to doing it this way....even if you don't break off much of the braided line...it does change color.....you can just reverse the "braided line" after a period of time.

Works for many of us, in this part of the State!!!!!!
