I think the only change from the previous anti-snagging rule is that a shorebound angler using a floating lure can now use more than one single point hook...the rest, as confusing as it is, hasn't changed.

My take is that you can use a leadhead under a float, like a jig...but a Dedfish weight would not be legal, unless it was at least 12 inches from the bait, which would kind of make it a pretty ineffective technique.

The rule hasn't changed for the boaties, just for the shore guys...mainly allows for tossing plugs from the bank, can have two hooks now, instead of just the one that was required before.

I think.
