No brand loyalties here I just want to hear from the guys who have been doing this for a long time whether or not they think the GLX or IMX is worth double the cost of an XMG in an 1141 or EXS96LL. Somebody that has been free-drifting almost longer than I have been alive told me the rod makes a big difference and I was just hoping for some other opinions before I go load up on a bunch of 500 dollar spinning rods. I am very new at this, and feel like free-drifting is more luck than it is skill and would like to learn whatever I can to "feel" like I am actually detecting the bite and setting the hook instead of thinking, "bottom, bottom bottom, snag or maybe is a no, snag, bottom bottom"
