Waste incinerators produce electricity and reduce the need for land-
fills and their attendant aquifer contamination. Scrubber technology
is such that there is no airborne effluent emitted. And yet the
NIMBYS do their damndest to prevent such technology from being
taken advantage of.
Too bad that normal progress is so dependent on the foibles of some
ignorant bits of society.
