Rubio is the one who has a better message and may be able to get someone...anyone...in the GOP to listen to it. That remains to be seen. Being "soft" on immigration in the next month or so won't score him any points with the key demographic of angry old white men, the ones who oppose anything but moats and firing squads when it comes to immigration reform.
The Cubans are somewhat pro-GOP because they are both anti-Castro...Castro won't be along much longer and the GOP will have to have something else to offer them.
"Family values" are indeed conservative values...they're also progressive values, and American values. Every time the GOP touts that they *are* the family values party some dude gets caught sending gay pics to an underage staffer, cheating on his wife (repeatedly), or getting yet another divorce. They should really stop saying that they are for "family values" and just say they are "anti-abortion", since that's the only "family value" that they have all for themselves.
The rest are everyone's, and it's a fair bet that everyone else is at least as good at doing them as the GOP, and in many cases better...far better.
Fish on...
Todd
