I had a gl2 float rod 10.5' which I no longer have . Even your float fishing rod should be sensitive so you can stay in touch with your gear. I built a cabelas float rod that doubles as a drift rod in a pinch. The rod is more sensitive than the gl2 and much cheaper. If your trying to save a buck that is the way to go. Others on the board have recommend a Lamiglas signature rod by Herzog. If you plan on float fishing you will want the longer rod.
