The court costs of defending against your attorney is more than the city, county or court would make off the ticket itself. You pay the fee, it is off your record and the city gets nothing for bothering you. If all defendants hired attorneys, they would bother ticketing you. They don't want you to know that and it is all about the money... You're going to pay it to someone.
