I fished there on the evening of the opener and again last night. The fishing has been very good. On Tuesday evening, the guy who took me out caught a 21 pounder. Last evening, I went out in my boat with my wife and a buddy and we caught a 20 and a 16 pounder and were done in an hour (my wife just goes for the sun).

A buddy who I see out there every year caught a 38 pounder on the evening of the 1st.

I have seen lots and lots of fish caught, besides the ones I described.

All the fish I described were caught on straight cut-plug herring, trolled as slowly as you can manage, at about 40 feet deep, off a downrigger.

We have had better luck around the bouy on the Tacoma side, as opposed to the bouy on the Brown's Point side.

I drive a 1988 Bayliner Trophy 2110, ragtop, named the AliKat. Say "hello" if you see me out there. Good luck!!
