Have you looked into Loomis repair/warranty, shop for cheap seconds (don't have one) etc.? Lamiglas is going the same direction as you. Loomis was ahead of the curve and made similar changes years ago.

I've always bought Loomis and still happily pay the $100 to expedite/replace a rod.
