Game is on for sure, lots of fish and fish being caught by plenty of fisherman. My only luck today was a nice big 25-30# Chinook that was promprtly released, I wish it would have swam off stronger but rules are rules. First Chinook I have hooked on a spinner off the bank in years.

6 fish above the bridge and the fish were running everywhere until tide got high. Only there for 2 hours so fishing is definately getting hot. All loose scales and bright fish but nothing new for this time of year. Fish were smaller but still running 8-10#.

Todays report was good, many fish caught from Johns river up to Fuller bridge. Lot's of jacks and some c&r chinook mixed in. Most from Monte to 28th st. Blue fox with silver blades, and almost any color bodies were working.

Got this info from 5 different solid sources. 3 boats and 2 bankies.

It's on for now!!!

Well crap, I was due to come up short................and I did. DW I was NOT lucky today. Seals, and more seals, and more, seals 6 within half mile of the house. That did a number but some Coho but not moving like yesterday. Up river from CP the Chinook went and really picked on some spinner guys working the shore slot in boats. The cops even stopped and said it was wild upriver from us as the Nookers were busy tearing up folks asses.

Oh well ....................................

9/24/2010....

Finally a dumb male Silver was introduced to a "old style" Blue Pirate...did the death spin but the beaded chain did it's thing...

also 3 silver jacks that were released so other could enjoy, and one king jack that bit a #5 Blue Fox....barbless hooks, sure make releasing easy.

Saw "fish on the move", and a few nets, doing the "dip dance"!!!!

Good luck to all.........

I went to Morrison Park yesterday and didn't see any dead fish on the grass, which isn't usually a good sign. After an hour of seeing how muddy the river was, I went home.

Too late, fishing has become very slow. I did get one at Morrison, water was pretty clear but I didn't fish the outgoing tide but for maybe an hour in the afternoon. I didn't get on the water until 11:30. Heard the water was a little muddy on the hard out going tide in the morning, wish I would have been fishing it for the close runners. 4 other Coho caught at Morrison and 2 jacks, 2 Coho and 1 jack caught at the boat launch that I know of. Boats weren't catching a thing from what I heard below the bridge or anywhere else. Uncle was below the bridge and trolled whole incoming tide and only saw 2 fish caught.

Fished up river...no coho's for us, but caught and released 4 chrome chinook for the boat. My 91 year old father caught 3 (approx. 8, 22, and 28 lbs, respectively....guessing of course), and my son caught one about 12 lbs. (again guessing). A great day on the water. Saw several other fish caught...most chinook as they were released...a few coho.

3 for 5 in the harbor. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 landed were the wrong species. Would have happily traded those 2 for the 2 silvers we lost, which would have also meant FP wouldn't have lost one of my Fish Flashes. Yet he's the one who went home with a silver in his cooler.

Sure it was a seagull? Couple more of these and it's going to chain everyone to the docks.

Today was just hiccup with a big baro pressure change and sunshine, tomorrow should have the fish back moving again if it doesn't pour all day and make fishing simply miserable.

Just to give everyone a heads up, there is already talk about them closing sections of the river because too many Chinook are being hooked and released. Might want to let your buddies know that fish and game is already talking about temporary closures in 4 places up the Chehalis if it doesn't stop. Mouths of Satsop and Wynoochie, pumphouse and one other were over heard being possible closure targets by a couple guys over the last couple days. It seems they are taking this Chinook protection seriously this year, of course this all hear say so take it with the grain of salt. The officer that checked us today didn't mention anything but he wasn't too talkative. I haven't gotten anything first hand yet but if I do I will make sure everyone knows.
