I bent 1 side of a treble once in Port Angeles jiggin' for blackmouth. Turns out it wasn't the blackmouth that bent it, it was the 40 pound halibut that ate the jig! I've never broken a hook, but have seen some trebles get smashed over to one side by big chinook.

About 10 years ago I caught a 15+ pound coho up at Sekiu and lodged in it's mouth was a 5/0 siwash broken off at the top. Probably was crimped improperly.
