When guiding in the late 1980s I broke several Gammies. This was when they were new and had temper problems. I gave up on them for a few years but have finally gotten over being PO'ed. I have also bent a number of trebles, mainly #2 VMCs, mostly from horsing a big fish or when trying too hard to remove the hooks with pliers. But I was shocked this past winter to have an Owner jig hook totally self-destruct when setting the hook on a mid-size steelie in a tailout. Looked like spaghetti when it came back. Sadly the steelhead did not come back with the jig.

I guess any brand of hooks can occasionally have a bad one.
