The only time I have ever straightened a hook on a fish was after I had cast the same spinner for three or four days in a row, bent all of the treble hooks back to relative straightness, and then of course hooked an extremely hot, large native steelhead in heavy water...

I have straightened the hooks on plugs several times while extracting them from snags, this is much more likely to happen as I tend to use a little heavier line when pulling plugs vs. tossing gear.

I have never bent a Siwash hook on a fish, even after rebending them. I have broken a few on snags here and there...

Other than my problems with the (censored) hooks I have only ever broken three hooks total out of thousands while closing the open eye...

Breaking/straightening hooks once attached to the lure has happened so infrequently to me that I really consider it a non-issue across all brands.
