I also shoot a 44 mag mines the super blackhawk my partner loads his own for me, we prefer the smaller weight bullets ,I don't think the animal can tell the difference between the 240 grn and the 290 grn ,in my opinion the 240 is a more accurate cartridge as long as you use quality bullets...tight groups and slow Elk
