I really hope that Washington learned something from that USC loss...yeah, they got outplayed, on both sides of the ball, but I think it was a lot simpler than that.

It was the first high pressure game they had been in. The Arizona game looked high pressure, but wasn't. It was early in the season and Pac12 games are always tough, blah blah blah.

In the USC game they not only were thinking they could be a playoff team, but the Committee did, too. This was uncharted territory, period, and the fact that the team is almost all underclassmen didn't make it any easier, they wilted under that pressure, especially Jake, who by far had his worse game this year, maybe in his college career.

This is their second high pressure game. They know they can do it, they know they can handle it, and they know they are good enough to win, and even win convincingly against a really good #8 ranked Colorado team.

I see this playing out three ways.

1. They wilt again, and get pushed around by the Buffaloes. I think it's a real possibility, but really unlikely.

2. They go toe to toe with a good team, and it looks a lot like the Utah game. They win, and win without a lot of fear, but have to have the pedal down the whole game and not make mistakes. Probably the most likely scenario.

3. They come out and romp like they did last week, and have most of the season. I think Colorado is too good to let that happen, but you never know...this is a high pressure game for Colorado, too. It's not impossible that Colorado could make the final four, it just would take 50 other things to happen, but it begins with them winning this game. Either way, a CU win here would put them in an awesome bowl game, and set them up for a show down next year with USC for the south (which, I guess, is coming anyway...better to start that with ending this season with some big wins). I think Washington winning by 17 or more is far far more likely than losing in any way to CU, but I think the game will probably be closer than that.

44-32, Huskies, in a hard fought, but in the end, comfortable win.

Fish on...

Todd
