I love my dogs, and apparently Freddie Mack's dogs loved him...

This incident leaves so many questions unanswered:

Is this environmentally more responsible than cremation or composting?

Wouldn't a roll of dog waste bags be considerably cheaper than a coffin or urn? Assuming you weren't buying the bags at a funeral home.

What's worse...being consumed by your canine companions, or drowning while innertubing with your pet pig? The latter example actually happened in WA this weekend.

Three dogs were adopted out; if a dog's tasted Mack, will it ever go back?

Do you really want to be a crime scene investigator?

If Mr. Mack had already expired before he became dog nutrients, maybe the horror of this story is that the animals had to consume their owner, and then several of their own to survive...kind of a Donner Party story for dogs.
