I think Gojira is one of the better "newer" metal bands. I like their themes of enviromental issues and spirituality. Behemoth is a wicked band but thematically I get bored quickly with the satanic themes.

Mario Duplantier is the real deal. He can play double bass for an hour without ever stopping,it's his "warm up". Saw those guys live in SC and they were off the hook. Never seen Behemoth,but if you are into that sort of sh!t check out Watain. They are swedish and light upside down crosses on fire on stage and throw blood on the crowd.
