Jesse Jackson has been a featured speaker at the Democratic National Convention for the last 20 years, that seems pretty 'mainstream' (for the democrats) to me. As for context, your search engine works as well as mine.

The question from the other thread I was most interested in was ......'What, in your mind, qualifies as 'strong, unwavering support' for Israel?'

Read the analogy about bath water/allies/neighbors.
England and Israel are two of our strongest allies-- I think it's safe to say that for the most part their support for us is very strong.
Despite the potential unpopularity with his fellow Englishmen, Prime Minister Tony Blair's strong unwavering support for his countries allies invading Iraq and removing Saddam and his regime from power will go down in history as a true 'profile in courage.'
France would also say they are our allies, however, their support is NOT strong and it's certainly NOT unwavering.
Everyone invited will come to your house for the 'big party' and eat the food and drinks you offer them. The ones that stay just until the food and drinks are gone and then leave are just partyers, the ones that help you clean up your home after the party is over are your real friends.
It's important to know who your real friends are.--RB
