I think folks here who were in the military or have spouses who were in the military are proud of it as they should be. Being a higher authority on issues because of that service is a non starter in my opinion. Just becuase John Kerry was in Viet Nam does not make him more qualified than others who did not serve in Viet Nam...alot of folks think so and JK sure has used his 4 months of Viet Nam experience as the centerpiece of his campaign. Like John Kerry. a few folks here oppose the current military policies of the US and that is cool . What is bogus is that their opinion somehow carries more weight becuase of some previous military service decades ago.

I actually question JK's judgement going to VietNam when he so vehemently opposed the US government at the time. So many people opposed the war in Viet Nam at the time and protesting was the rule and not the exception. I would say Bill Clinton was the smarter one. He avoided service and is still a smart guy who those who tear down Bush consider an icon using military service and what type of service as the battle cry. Kind of hypocritical don't you think.

Let's talk about $50 a barrel oil...that is a real scandal.
