I've worked for software companies since the mid 90s, so I know what I'm talking about. Want more proof than Paker telling you you're wrong? Here's some.

My eldest son graduated from UW with a computer science-related (Informatics) bachelor's degree. He had a killer job within two weeks of graduating making almost $100k. You, with no degree and no desire to work = a deadbeat loser.

My other son graduated with a bachelor's degree in software engineering. He had a job within THREE working days after graduating, making over $110k. You with no degree and no desire to work = still a deadbeat loser.

So yes, a computer science degree typically does get you into the computer industry faster.
