Even in blowouts there are a half a dozen opportunities for a team to stop the bleeding...but they rarely take advantage of any of them.

Yesterday, starting about halfway thru the third quarter, the Seahawks started taking advantage of every single one of them, and then created a few more opportunities themselves.

Aaron Rodgers can cry about how they were the better team and how the better team lost yesterday all he wants...he is wrong.

There are 60 minutes in a game, not 55, and you don't get bonus credit for winning more of the minutes, you get credit for having more points on the board than your opponent when the game ends.

Going for FGs in what should be a relatively low scoring game is not a bad idea. It's only a bad idea in retrospect because they lost...and it is not why GB lost. If GB won by three points they'd all be climbing McCarthy's jock to be the first ones to congratulate him on his forward thinking to take the field goals.

Fake field goal? I don't think we've ever done one since Petey came on board...not one...and frankly, it caught me by surprise, big time. I thought we'd just take the three points to get off the snide and see if that generated any life on our side of the field.

Bostwick's terrible play on the onside kick was...terrible. But he didn't give up any points, and he didn't fail to throw at two injured DBs, and he didn't fail to tackle Marshawn Lynch...nor did he decide that the GB DBs should completely lose Baldwin on the play before the game winner.

He also didn't stand there with his thumbs up his ass like HaHa!! Clinton-Dix did and let Wilson throw a ball 55 yards in the air like a hot air balloon and fall right into Willson's hands for a 2 point conversion. That was the single worst defensive play of the entire game right there.

My biggest wonder is why we didn't run the damn zone read option until the very end of the game...there were half a dozen times throughout the first half when Russell handed off to Lynch while the DE was crashing in, and they would have been great times for Russell to keep it.

Not sure if those were designed handoffs or if Russell just didn't want to keep it for some reason, but that was a major fail of our offense.

Kearse gets to be the big fuckin hero, but if it wasn't for a ton of heroics all over the field he'd be the biggest goat...four interceptions while he was being targeted and two of them were 100% his fault, he may has well have caught the pass and turned and handed it to the defender.

There were a lot of head shakers in that game.

The Packers lost so every little thing will be examined so that fault and blame can be handed out accordingly, but the Hawks won so all we'll hear about are the few big plays at the end that gave us the win.

One single aspect of any of those many, many plays didn't work out our way and the Packers would be celebrating and we'd be raking Kearse, Russell, and Bevill over the coals right now.

I hope they all get chewed up in the film room today and tomorrow and then get back to playing better...we have kind of a big game coming up.

Fish on...

Todd
