Todd,

I do respect your opinions, I just do not agree with them all the time. That's one reason why we got so darn many of "them there attorneys" running around out there! As you know, many times people have very different opinions on what is right and what is wrong or what is legal and what is not. Just because a person has a law degree doesn't mean that they are right with their opinion. In fact, 50% of the time one of two arguing attorneys is almost always wrong. You don't get too many split decisions in a court room do you? Usually one party is proven to be right and the other party is proven to be wrong, correct?

When we debate issues on this board, we are giving our own personal opinions unless we state otherwise, like saying that something is "a fact" but it can't be proven. And as we all know, facts are forever changing, are they not?

Attorneys are trained to debate the opinion of their client's position, even if it is not the legally correct position. Our opinions that are posted on this board are much more diversified than that of what an attorneys view may be.

I guess the best example that I can give you goes right back to the Boldt decision again. Here, you had the "State of Washington" being represented by the Attorneys Generals Office. The best minds of our states legal branch asserted that their legal opinion would prevail over that of the Tribes. Well we all know what the result of that opinion was, don't we!

So my point is this; legal opinions can, and do change, but they only change when they have been challenged. Just because there is a law or rule in place now, doesn't mean that it must always be interpreted the same way as it is interpreted now.

I am ready to move on to other debates, how about you?

There are lots of other issues out there that can help better everyone knowledge and understanding of what ill's our fishery. I look forward to reading your opinions when those issues appear.

The other crap that you mentioned in your last reply, well, I will let it go, if you will let it go. We shouldn't be focusing on each other; we should be focusing on turning our declining fish runs around… right?

I guest we now know more about each other then we needed too!
