I caught a big crappie in a private pond when I was in high school, bass fishing with a 8" worm...black crappie, it was 19" on the shittty painted on ruler on the apron of my old school Bass Pro Shops float tube.

Unfortunately it was before the advent of Facebook or digital camera phones, so it didn't actually exist.

Definitely was a state record crappie, FWIW...it was all of 5 pounds, and was bigger than any bass I ever caught out of that pond over the years by two pounds.
