Also, I don't necessarily condone or want a wall. I'm just pointing out the potential shifts in cost ownership. There would be some positives sure, but there's also definitely some negatives (as Dan's post directly above mine captures major one). A smart sailor mends his ship in a storm using monies gathered during good times. There's also the environmental impacts among other negatives. How are animals going to cross? Will it affect Monarch butterflies? How do you account for the Rio Grand which is a very large portion of the current border? Do you just give ownership of the river back?

This is all about votes and power at the end of the day and not necessarily just about stemming the flow of illegal immigration. I'm kinda for it and I'm kinda against it, but it won't affect how I vote next cycle (which will be based on another hot topic).
