"GDP growth in a quarter has been higher than this as recently as 2014.

The question on everyone's mind is how can this rate of growth be sustained?"

Its happening due to a dollar which is increasing because of the devaluing of foreign currency and the raise in interest rates which has caused a flood of foreign currency into dollar based assets, the dollar is temporarily a "safe haven" from week volatile foreign markets which are in jeopardy due to a continued policy of low interest rates and stimulus being directly inserted into the "cash flow" not to mention unprecedented central bank created debt. Secondly companies and corporations are purchasing raw materials like mad in far excess of normal purchasing as they see significant price increases due to tariffs in the near future, so its better to invest now cheaper than to purchase at a much higher price later. As tariffs settle in and sovereign currencies establish themselves as a result things will normalize after a period of time but not until after the value of the dollar collapses under its own debt. The current raising value of the dollar is due to manipulated conditions partially from Trump policies and partially from central bank policies. Trumps policies are forcing the establishment of sovereign currencies backed by physical assets, central bank policies meant to crash the current currencies and then to establish new ones maintaining them being fiat controlled by the central bank. Trumps policies have undermined the central bank and exasperated the need for sovereign currencies valued in physical assets instead of fiat currencies valued in debt. In the new system of zero tariff's its better for a diverse basket of sovereign currencies to be valued even against each other for fair trade because everybody will mostly be using their own currency instead of a reserve currency in the future.
