I'm a fan of these Pastrami sandwiches at La Salas market in Monterey, but the Italian sausage meatball combo at Compagnos Hilltop Market are the best in town, and you can feed 2 people on a whole. There are a lot of wops here, due to the italian fishing community of guys who's grandfathers fathers were there when the Monterey sardines "disappeared". They just up and vanished according to these dagos. My friend Joe is a commerical italian fisherman, great guy and funny, looks like Clemenza from the Godfather movies rofl

Theres a neighborhood up Franklin st we call spaghetti hill. Doesn't smell like pasta sauce as much as it did when we were kids. You could smell cooking garlic around 5 pm coming from Guisseppe Pellegrinos place across from this girl house who I used to go with when we were teenagers. Ahh,memories.
