GD, Yes it is a crime and it has been a crime for a very, very long time. I do believe in secure borders and I believe in compassion. Two things that are not incompatible with each other. I agree that Congress needs to act and while we wait, I don't want to make a bad situation worse by continuing this policy of separation. But, more to the point, this Administration has shown a cynical attitude towards families who are illegally crossing. This has everything to do with Trump trying to fulfill his campaign promise of the wall. Never mind that his promise was explicit, Mexico would pay for the wall. Now, he so desperately wants to fulfill this promise that he is willing to use young children as chips in his poker game. It is cynical, it is craven, and its disgusting. Your attempt at diversion is the same.
