That's what I'm saying. Mexico will pay for it - one way or another. What people won't let go of is this notion that it MUST be a direct payment from the Mexican government. Be it a big gag check, direct deposit or a wire transfer. None of those things are going to happen. What will happen is that Mexico & other Latin countries will pay for it one way or another.

Illegal immigrants cost the US taxpayer roughly $120 billion per year. Most illegals come through our southern border (outside of visa overstays). If only 1/5th of that cost is reduced by less illegal immigration via the border, then the wall paid for itself and the cost burden is shifted to Mexico and other Latin countries.

That's only one way. There are many others and more than likely it will be paid for via a blend of multiple sources. That's the nuance.
