Remember I used the Wynoochee River, that has the trap, and any hatchery steelhead, after Lake Aberdeen hatchery gets any brood they need, are put between the dams OR trucked above the dam.

1. I say "there is NO WAY WDFW has a clue about how many fish are caught per day!!!! Yea, I know they have some monitors working SOME days but "knowing fishermen", I'm not sure they all will tell how many fish they have or lost.

2. Remember "all hatchery fish must die" and for sure if they are netted and if they are trucked above the dam they will die.

3. Punch card data isn't helpful, time lag, are fish punched, and then are the cards even returned????

4. Yea, someone will say maybe a Wynoochee Wild winter steelhead might be hooked and might die on the release but for sure 100% will die in the gill net or the wild steelhead that are trucked about the dam.

5. Hatchery steelhead do NO GOOD being trucked above the dam, except when they die, bodies might feed other things.

6. Who REALLY cares how many hatchery steelhead make it to the trap????

7. Wynoochee should have the "bait, scent, barbless hook" removed as soon as a emergency regulatory can be written......IMO

8. Taxpayers pay for those 160,000 to 170,000 fish to be raised, actually above 7400 line there is no legal fishing and the trapped fish which could be "hauled down river for a second run could be done, and has in the past, instead just haul them above the dam.............grrrrrrrrrr

PS....I live close to the Wynoochee, fished it more than a "few times" in my 57 years of living in Central Park
