The Chehalis Springers are kinda sorta strange as the river is rain driven not snow but the Summers will wander in latter part of August. For years Montesano R-6 claimed there were not Summers only early fall as they did not want to manage for them. Springers move above South Elma then move up slowly spot to spot mostly on upwellings until spawning time. Summers will start staging up lower in the tidewater then start up. The Satsop will always have a Chinook make Schafer park by October 10th but that is falls.
