Don't know why I post as this thing is down more than up but here goes. What is coming up river now is mostly Chum. One tribal fisher I know on one trip to the fish house was 48 Chum 2 Coho. Thing is they are getting $1.65 a pound for Chum today, why I do not know but with a preseason forecast of 93K Grays Harbor Chum that is some bucks. I say that because some talk of shutting fisheries down.

Thing is Coho moved up really early a substantial numbers but just what % of the run is a good question. We have just really rotten hold over tides and flows are in the dumpster. At Porter they are 300 cfs and the Satsop is also 300 cfs and both are just above record lows. Why on earth any salmon would come into the harbor let alone move upstream is beyond me.

What I do know is the fish are coming in schools not much of a steady movement. Sealions are loving it feasting away raiding nets seagulls are happy fishermen are not! Some rain Saturday but Chehalis at Porter about a 50 cfs bump and the same for Satsop which is just darn near nothing. NOAA is saying not much rain for two weeks other forecast rain off and on from 24th but picking up the closer November gets with first week of November a wet one.

It is a waiting game right now!
