We have a bar out in Budd Inlet that is intertidal and away from the navigation channel. Every year we catch boats on it. A sailboat that anchors on it sure looks funny when there is is no water under it.

Some speedboats really clobber it and then gun it. Seems to me, especially on an inboard, that one sandblasts the cooling system really well.

Another interesting aspect is that, apparently, one should not abandon their boat as it the becomes subject to salvage by anyone. So, the Harbor Cops will go out, check that folks are unhurt and have water, and leave them for the next tide rise. Shall we say that many of wives appear less than thrilled at the navigational and boat operation skills of Hubby as the bake in the sun awaiting high tide.
