DW & I talking I realized how seldom Chinook jump but they do just not very often. No idea on why size maybe shape. Hooking them broodstocking with 50 lb line you can lock up the reel and they will come stright up. One thing I figured out early on Chinook behave differently in big vs narrow faster water. In fresh water all salmon behave differently than in salt partly I think salt to fresh takes a toll on them.
